A powerful trio with an antiallergic action

Following on from yesterday's post on histamine overload there are several amazing herbs that may help some people with this. I find it interesting that these all grow well in my South Canterbury garden.

Please talk to your medical herbalist to see if they are right for you. It is unlikely any of these are right where there is severe histamine overload like anaphylaxis involved so use your common sense!

🌱Nettle leaf, Urtica dioica, is a herb that has antiallergic action and is indicated for uticaria (hives) and hay fever. I find it interesting that it is also a herb that is considered most definitely indicated for pregnancy and women's health with its high nutrient profile especially iron. If you look at the doctrine of signatures, nature tells us what it is for with the sharp needles on its leaves that sting us.

🌱Baical skullcap, Scutellaria baicalensis, is another that has antiallergic action plus anti-inflammatory so this is most definitely indicated for the symptoms of histamine overload.

🌱Nigella sativa, aka black seed, is another I use in clinic often for histamine overload with its actions of antiallergic and immune modulating.
